Sake- I just had to say goodbye to you a little over an hour ago. Your dog brothers do not understand what has happened. They do sense sadness and wonder where you are. You see, you were my first rescue. The most beautiful Shiba Inu baby girl. You came to me scared and so afraid of everything, including me. You were supposed to be used just for breeding. Somehow, I convinced the breeder to sell you to me. After seeing pictures of you out in the snow fenced in a small area and all alone, I had to rescue you. You arrived in a small crate and I made you a promise that you would never have to be caged or crated again. You loved to play and tease your dog bothers and loved to hide your chews and treats. You entertained me for five years and the only dog ever to sleep on my pillow. It makes me sad to think that you just found your voice (bark) in the last few months. I think you finally felt you were strong enough to protect me and alert me of any danger. I only wished I would have checked the back gate after this afternoon's wind and storm. Maybe you would not have gotten out and the car would not have hit you. I wish I could have given you one last pet and told you I loved you. I was lucky to get to look after you for five years, but now you are free. No more leashes, fences or boundaries, you are completely free. Good bye my beauiful Shiba Girl, you are finally free.
