I just today found this website and read your comments regarding your darling "little lady cat." I experienced the same as you in having to put my darling 15 1/2 year old lady cat, Kim, to sleep yesterday morning. I feel such loss and have cried off and on for two days. I am given some peace in knowing that Kim no longer is in pain and trust that she is with all the wonderful pets that have gone on before and that I'll see her again someday.
