He left us 2 1/2 weeks ago at age 7. Much too young. He wasn't a typical Golden Retriever. In fact, he was kind of an oddball because he had no interest whatsoever in retrieving anything. The other Goldens that we've had, including a 3 year old female (Gracie) that we still have, would chase a ball all day long. Dexter would be in our bedroom searching for socks or underwear to chew instead. Actually, the fact that he was an oddball is one of the things that made him special too me. He certainly had a mind of his own, but he was the sweetest dog in the world. We love you Dex and we hope that you are playing with Cyrus, our 1st Golden who left us several years ago. We hope to see both of you again someday. We are counting on Gracie being with us for a long time to come.
