I just read your tribute to you sweet dog and thought how wonderful it is that God put such a love in our hearts for His creatures. A lady from the animal shelter called me about 1 1/2 years ago trying to find a home for an older dog. They knew she was at least 12 but was so sweet and desperately needed a home. I took her immediately and fell in love with her. She was a rat terrier and evidently been used for breeding and wasn't taken care of very well. I took her to the vet for a checkup and discovered she had heartworms. The treatments worked fine but damaged her heart. About 4 weeks ago she apparently had a heart attack and had to be put on heart medication. It worked fine but then went into renal failure. She lost a lot of weight and was really begin to suffer. I waited for as long as I could and had her put to sleep today. I thought my heart was going to absolutely burst from the hurt. I had ALWAYS said I would NEVER have one put to sleep but she looked up at me as if to say "please end this suffering." She was always so sweet and never any trouble. I do believe He has a place for His sweet little creatures like Molly Bee and one day we will meet again. He has a special place for these wonderful animals who bring so much joy in our lives.
