I lost a part of myself yesterday, July 3, 2005 when we had to put our beatiful Labrador-Rottweiler mix down at age 13 years. We named him Quasi Moto because he had suffered a broken jaw when he was a puppy (before we owned him) and his nose was off center and his right eye was a little out of sync. He appeared in our yard in May of 1993 and it did not take long before he captured mine and my husband's heart. He began suffering with seizures in June of 1995 and had been on seizure medication for the last ten years but other than having a siezure about once a month he was in good health and had the greatest dispositon. He loved to play frisbee and ball and would chase and retrieve anything you threw. He went everywhere with us that we could take him and we enjoyed going to Myrtle Beach, SC with Quasi the last four years. He loved to play ball on the beach. My husband took him to a nursing home a few times where his mother was and some of the elderly people there perked up immediately and wanted to talk about when they had a dog years ago. He was truly special and a "ONE OF A KIND" dog and I will miss him until my days on earth here are done. And I know I will see him again some day and he will run over to me and give me a big kiss and everything will be alright again. I will close with a quote from Charles Dickens which sums up my feeling of loss for this beautiful animal: "AND CAN IT BE THAT IN A WORLD SO FULL AND BUSY, THE LOSS OF ONE CREATURE MAKES A VOID IN ANY HEART, SO WIDE AND DEEP THAT NOTHING BUT THE WIDTH AND DEPTH OF ETERNITY CAN FILL UP! I LOVE YOU QUASI.
