F o r e w o r d * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Where can one turn to when the unexpected suddenly happens and their long-time pet is no more? Often, these things happen so abruptly that there isn’t even time to say goodbye to our wonderful friends. It is crushing and seems so final. The ensuing emotional roller coaster is a long, hard ride, one that we, who keep pets, all know we will eventually take, but one that none of us relish. There are those learned few who stand ready to help us with our trauma and emotions. They are able to assist us past the shock and denial, to that place of acceptance. They help strengthen our resolve to recover from the blow, but they cannot fix the broken heart or fill the empty void left in our lives by the irreversible loss. Not to worry my friend...there is a cure for our hearts. There is a way to turn that emptiness inside out...to replace it with hope...a hope of seeing our pets again. As extraordinary as that may sound, I assure you it is a very real probability that I discuss in detail in the pages that follow.
